Using Sky Drone FPV with Mission Planner for full 4G/LTE drone control

With the Sky Drone FPV Client software you get low latency HD video over the 4G/LTE network out of the box. But to leverage the full potential of the system you want to connect a Ground Control Station software to it, that allows you not only to visualize telemetry data but also control the drone over the LTE network. This will make it a true unlimited-range system. You can control a drone on the other side of the globe or one just in front of you. Sky Drone FPV does not lock you in to a specific GCS solution but...

Controlling a drone through your own Dronekit application over 4G/LTE

Updated 17 December, 2016: Demo Video added.   Sky Drone FPV supports the Dronekit framework out of the box and makes it easier than ever for developers to create applications for autonomous drone control. The Sky Drone FPV Client will automatically expose the MAVLink data of your drone via a local TCP server that can be used by Dronekit. This is how it all works together: Using Dronekit for Python, all you have to do is setting the connection parameter to the localhost (127.0.0.1) TCP server on port 5235: vehicle = connect('tcp:127.0.0.1:5235') Now you can program and test your code...

Sky Drone FPV 2 got covered by Summit SkyCam on LinkedIn Pulse

Sky Drone FPV 2 just received some great coverage by Summit SkyCam, which is run by Chris Baker - an FAA Section 107 Certified Remote Pilot. Here is a quick excerpt: Sky Drone just made nearly unlimited FPV and HD video possible. What this means is if your into inspections for utilities you can now cover many more miles of pipeline and power lines lowering your cost. Covering large areas seems to be the biggest cost for drone operators due to battery exchanges and the biggest limitation RANGE! Now Sky Drone just helped reduce one of those hurdles. At a...
